Monday Morning Grounding
Calling all hormone hype besties, you'll definitely want to read this...
Blue light—which we absorb primarily from screens—actually increases production of cortisol, the natural “stress hormone.” Increased levels of cortisol trigger the body’s internal fight/flight/freeze/fawn stress response, preparing the nervous system for perceived threat. Exposing yourself to blue light first thing in the morning sets the tone for your entire day: anxious, hypervigilant, and tense.
Ditch the blue light and ease into the morning. Enjoy your cup of coffee with a book, or take it with you for a walk as the sun begins to rise. Notice how your mood changes in response to this new routine.
