You agree to the terms of service below, and the Terms of Use for Substack, the technology provider.
Welcome to Social Subtext. By subscribing, reading, or engaging with this newsletter in any way, you are agreeing to the following terms. These Terms of Service are designed to outline the expectations, rights, and responsibilities for both you (the reader) and me (the writer).
1. Content & Purpose
Social Subtext is a personal publication offering reflections on empathy, connection, culture, and social psychology. While I draw from research and professional experience, all content is intended for informational, educational, and reflective purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional advice (medical, therapeutic, legal, etc.).
2. Respectful Engagement
This space is rooted in empathy, curiosity, and human connection. I ask that you engage with the content and community respectfully. Comments, replies, or shares that contain hate speech, harassment, or discrimination will not be tolerated and may result in removal or blocking.
3. Intellectual Property
All content—including written posts, graphics, and any future downloadable materials—is the intellectual property of the author unless otherwise credited. You’re welcome to share excerpts (with attribution and a link), but full reproduction or distribution without permission is not allowed.
4. Subscription & Emails
By subscribing to Social Subtext, you consent to receive emails from me. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link provided in each email. I respect your inbox and will never share or sell your email address.
5. Paid Content
If you choose to become a paid subscriber, you’ll gain access to exclusive content as described in the subscription offer. Refunds will not be issued retroactively, but you may cancel at any time. Any future changes to pricing or tiers will be communicated in advance.
6. Modifications to Terms
I reserve the right to update these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use of the publication after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
7. Contact
If you have any questions or concerns about these terms, feel free to contact me directly at laura@lauracaruso.com.
